IBG Researchers Received Gold and Special Award in i-INOVA 2018

NIBONG TEBAL, 13 March 2018 – Two IBG researchers, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Affendi Rosdi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahrel Azmin Suandi, received gold award for their research invention 'Personal Verification System Based on Finger Vein Pattern' and 'Multi-face Detection System (MFaceSYS) in Video Surveillance Area', respectively, during i-INOVA 2018 which was held in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Nilai, Seremban. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahrel was also awarded Special Award (Fatimah Fehri) in the event for his team's invention that solves multi-face detection among users wearing hijab ('tudung'). 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar invention is about solving biometric authentication problem using finger vein pattern. More details about the invention can be found here. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shahrel invention is about solving problem in detecting multi-face in video surveillance system where many Malaysians wear scarf in different patterns. More details about the invention can be found here.
