The Mission of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
To provide quality education and sustainable research that produce professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills and character that are required for the advancement of engineering and technology.

The Philosophy
In line with the USM’s vision, mission and SEEE’s mission, the offering of the B.Eng. (Honours) (Electronic Engineering), B.Eng. (Honours) (Electrical Engineering) and B.Eng. (Honours) (Mechatronic Engineering) programmes are to produce Electronic, Electrical, and Mechatronic engineers, respectively, with the appropriate professional qualifications, skill and knowledge, and are credible and able to find solutions to various engineering problems through innovative thinking.

Based on this philosophy, the goals of the curriculum of every study programmes have been designed to fulfill the nation’s Vision 2020, as well as industrial and current technological advancement needs.  Hence, the curriculum has been organized to have the following characteristics:

- Recognized by professional body (i.e.BEM) as well as to be internationally  acclaimed
- Proper and balanced integration of practical and theoretical aspects
- With a complete choice of many well planned and advanced specialization
- To build persons of sound character who are knowledgeable, competent and innovative

With the above characteristics, USM graduates will become graduate engineers of excellence, caliber and able to achieve the high level of professionalism as engineers or researchers in their respective fields.
