He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, New York, USA, in 1995. He was then a Software Engineer at Motorola Penang, Malaysia, in R&D Department until July 2001. He obtained his M.S. degree in communication engineering from UMIST, Manchester, UK, in 2002. He completed his Ph.D. degree in image and video coding for mobile applications, in June 2006, from the Institute for Communications and Signal Processing (ICSP), University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK.
