Research Interest

Miniaturization of microwave devices; low power 5G wireless system; signal/power integrity techniques; amplifier oscillation symptoms.

Current Research

1.    5G system device and Internet of Things – focus on low power and miniaturization attributes.

2.    Miniaturization and multi-layered metamaterial resonator – modeling, design, application (sensors).

3.    Digital IC design – crosstalk effect, process variation, external disturbances (single-event-upsets), power integrity

Achievements

She is a Senior Lecturer in Electronic (Communications) under School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia, USM. She officially joined USM in March 2012 straight after PhD. She received a Master’s degree in Electronics System Design Engineering in USM in 2006 and a PhD degree in Microelectronics System Design in Newcastle University, UK in 2011.

Currently, she has published 29 academic papers including peer-reviewed international and national journals as well as international and national conference proceedings respectively. She has obtained 2 USM research grants as well as currently the research leader for the national research grant, FRGS. Subsequently, she has graduated 1 PhD student, 3 Master by Research students and 15 Master students by Mixed Mode program. Currently, she has 2 PhD students and 3 Master students by Mixed Mode program under her supervision.

In 2014 and 2015, she has been invited to deliver a speech at International Conference on Small Science. Additionally she has won 2 Best Paper awards at IEEE conferences in 2015 and 2016. She has reviewed various international journal publications as well as conference proceedings. Dr. Nor Muzlifah Mahyuddin is currently a member of IEEE and involved in the Communications Society (ComSoc). Subsequently, she is also a member of IET and is registered under Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
