COURSE STRUCTURE FOR MASTERS OF SCIENCE (MSc) BY RESEARCH MODE
With the same objective, School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering offer postgraduates study by research mode at Masters of Science (MSc) level. This programme is designed to produce candidates with significant skill of conducting systematic research and prepare them for further study up to PhD level.

Study mode:
- Full time research mode
- Part time research mode
Duration:
- Full time (Minimum 2 semesters, maximum 6 semesters)
- Part time (Minimum 4 semesters, maximum 12 semesters)
Requirement of admission:
i. A Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.75, or
A Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related fields with CGPA lower than 2.75 will also be considered if they have vast experience in some specific areas of specialisation and approved by the School Board.
ii. For international students, there is an additional English language requirement, which is:
- A minimum score of 35 for TOEFL (Internet-based); or
- A minimum of Band 5 for IELTS; or
- A minimum score of 36 for PTE; or
- A minimum score of 154 for CAE/CPE; or
- A minimum of Band 2 for MUET
Exemption is given to candidate if:
- English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; or
- Candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and/or Master degree level is English (statement of proof required)
