PENANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Taxi and Bus transportation form the Airport
The Bayan Lepas International Airport is about 20km from the city center. Taxis plying the route follow the coupon system by which fares between the airport and various destinations in Penang are fixed. Passengers pay the fare at the taxi booth in exchange for the coupon which they then produce to the driver. Air-conditioned taxis and limousines charge slightly higher fares
The taxi fare from airport depends on your destination on which of the 7 Zones in Penang Island that you are going. Zone 1 - 14 Ringgit, Zone 2 - RM 22, Zone 3 - RM26 (Bukit Jambul, Hote Equatorial, Hotel Istana), Zone 4 - RM31, Zon 5 - RM38 (Geogetown, Hotel Berjaya), Zon 4 - RM47 (Tanjung Bunga (Hotel Copthorne), Zon 6 - RM60 Batu Ferringhi (Hotels). These zone locations are available at the airport.

2) 50% surcharge during 12am - 6am..
The Penang Yellow Bus Co. operates an hourly service between the Airport and Pengkalan Weld in the city between 6.00am to 10.00pm daily (Bus No. 83). From Pengkalan Weld to Batu Feringghi (Park Royal Hotel) take bus No. 93. The bus charges are at RM 0.80 (flat rate) through out Penang.
City Buses
Most of buses use coin machine to collect fares. The main bus terminals are Pengkalan Weld (ferry terminal) and KOMTAR (ground floor).
