NIBONG TEBAL, 2 August 2025 - A delegation from Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) visited Universiti Sains Malaysia’s (USM) Engineering Campus today for an interview and filming session with the university’s award-winning Robocon team.
The session, held at the Wet Laboratory and the Science and Engineering Research Centre (SERC) Gallery, featured discussions with the team’s advisor, Ts. Dr. Noramalina Abdullah from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (PPKEE).
According to Dr. Noramalina, USM’s achievement in securing third and fourth place, along with the Best Team Award at Robocon Malaysia 2025, was the result of relentless effort, creativity and strong fighting spirit from all members.
“Over almost a year of preparation, our students combined theory and practical skills,” she said.
“From robot design and strategy simulation to field testing, they encountered time constraints, technical errors and strategy changes, but remained steadfast in their efforts,” she said.
Meanwhile, she expressed gratitude to the university, particularly PPKEE, the School of Mechanical Engineering (PPKM), the Division of Student Development Affairs and Alumni (BHEPA), external sponsors, and technical experts who provided essential support in technical and logistical matters.
Dr. Noramalina added that this success serves as a motivation to groom more talents and enhance the team’s technical systems for future competitions.
“We hope for continued support from the university, especially in terms of facilities, financial assistance, and moral encouragement to keep the team motivated towards achieving victories at both national and international levels,” she said.
